September 27, 2024 - Week 5

 Hi Dale Street Community,

We just completed a great and busy week at #beproudbedale. It was filled with plenty of collaboration and enthusiasm. Please take a few minutes to look over this week's blog as it will help keep you informed as we move together through next week and beyond.

There is no school on Thursday, October 3rd
 in observance of Rosh Hashanah.

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals!

In their introduction to Makerspace class with Mrs. Beaudoin, fifth graders are designing classroom furniture that could benefit students in their classroom. They used giant legos (from an MCPE grant) to create a prototype. Students came up with creative ideas that required them to work through the Engineering Process and work with a team. You never know, these new ideas could be in classrooms someday! Way to go Makers!

Bus Rules
As students settle into their new bus routines, we continue to review the school bus rules here at school. Below is a list of the rules. Thank you in advance for your help in reinforcing our rules to help keep everyone safe.

Listen to your bus driver.
Sit down in your assigned seat for the entirety of the bus ride.
Use expected language and a quiet voice.
Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
No eating or drinking on the bus

On Tuesday, students in Mrs. Scott's class collaborated to discuss character traits during ELA.

Positive Sign Thursday!

'YOU ARE WORTH IT!'

This week Mrs. Flynn's class participated in opinion essay writing. Their topic...Do you love ice cream? Why? What examples can you find to back up this claim?

Come Meet the ETLs (Educational Team Leaders) and Ask Your Questions!

On Tuesday, October 1st, at 7:00 pm in the Blake Middle School Library, the ETLs from each school will introduce themselves and discuss the different ways they support our students. This is a great opportunity to ask first-hand questions about the various programs and tools that teachers can utilize to assist different learning styles. Student Services staff will also be available to answer any relevant higher-level questions. Be sure to visit Medfield SEPAC's booth at Medfield Day. On Saturday, September 28, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm we'll be at Booth #41 on Friary Street, just across from the Dwight Derby House. Stop by for some fun surprises!

It was great to represent Dale Street on Wednesday at the naming of Warrior Park! Big thanks to Rick Fink for spearheading this wonderful idea and a big shout out to the students at Dale Street and Wheelock for voting for the name. What a wonderful way for students to participate in the democratic process!
