December 2, 2022 - Week 13

 Hello Dale Street Families!

I hope that you all had an opportunity to spend time together with family and friends over the Thanksgiving break and focus on all there is to be thankful for.  I am very thankful for the students and staff I work with every day!  We had a great return to #beproudbedale this week.  Please take a minute to view some of the scenes and check out some important upcoming information.

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals!
Grace was recognized for being extremely helpful to a classmate.

Luke was recognized for exemplifying our Core Value of Respect.

So exciting!!!  Dale Street fourth graders are currently integrating their explorer unit with their Makerspace time.  Classrooms are working with Mrs. Lowerre to research and create "Bottle Buddies."  Check back in a couple of weeks to see the finished projects.

Positive Sign Thursday!

'OUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT!'

Mrs. Tumbleson's fourth and fifth-grade band students jumped right back into it after the Thanksgiving break.  So proud of their hard work!

In case you did not see the email note that went out this morning, here is a letter regarding upcoming Term 1 report cards.

The School Committee welcomes the community to join us for an informal conversation on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the conference room (lower level) at Medfield Public Library (468 Main Street).

Two school committee members will be available to meet with the public to discuss any topic related to the schools. Because only two committee members are present, the session is not an official School Committee meeting and therefore open dialogue is permitted (more than two members would constitute quorum and then require an official business meeting and set agenda as per Mass. Open Meeting Law).

Please fill out this form - https://forms.gle/EFjBJkAZ2yfPQfJP7 before attending. This will give SC members an opportunity to get additional info on potential discussion topics.

Please email scchair@email.medfield.net with any questions. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to our Math Challenge Winners: Ishayu and Olivia! Special thanks to Mrs. Perachi for overseeing this enrichment opportunity.

THANK YOU to those of you who attended the 2022 MCPE Fall Ball. What a party! At the Fall Ball, MCPE announced its 35th Anniversary Appeal - a special campaign that happens every five years to raise additional funds for Medfield Public Schools. This year, we’re asking the Medfield community to come together in raising $100,000 to support each school’s “Reach for the Stars” projects. Check out this video that features the administrators of all five Medfield schools discussing these special projects. MCPE, through the generosity of the Medfield community, has spent the past 35 years supporting the Medfield Schools - we cannot wait to make the five ideas in this video a reality with your help! We hope that we'll have your support as we work toward our goal of funding all five of these important and much-needed improvements to our schools. Please consider donating today.

Today, Grade 5 students in Ms. McKenzie's class worked collaboratively to take a deeper look at adding decimals.  It was so nice to hear such great math conversation and students loved taking a gallery walk!

December 6th - Student Council Meeting
December 8th - Site Council Meeting
December 9th - Report Cards Sent Out Through ASPEN

Thank you for your continued support,

Steve

Respect * Compassion * Collaboration * Continuous Growth
