November 23, 2016 - Week 13

Dear Dale Street Families,

Last Friday, the fifth grade students had a blast at the Grade 5 Kids' Night Out.  The students participated in games and dancing during this wonderful PTO sponsored event.  A big thank you to all of the parent volunteers for organizing and supervising this fantastic night. Here is a snapshot of the evening.....

Thank you to Ms. DiPesa's fourth grade class for sharing their wonderful camouflage turkeys with me.  What a creative class!

The Health Advisory Council will meet at the Wheelock School, Room 216, on Tuesday November 29th at 3:15 p.m. to review the updated Wellness Policy.
All are welcome to attend.

Dale Street School will show their school spirit by wearing their favorite crazy hat to school on Wednesday, 11/30.  In support of Global Giving, we are asking for a $1 donation to wear a crazy hat on this day.  All proceeds will go to Dale Street's Global Giving initiative.  We hope that everyone will participate in this fun day; however, participation is optional.

Ms. Isaacson's fourth grade class participated in writer's workshop this week.  Students were asked if they had to 'jump' into their book and be one of the characters who would they select?  What a thought-provoking question!

On Thursday, students in Ms. Sager's fifth grade class worked with World Language teacher, Mrs. LeVangie and used turkey glyphs to create and share their upcoming Thanksgiving plans.

We are moving closer to winter and brrrr, it’s been cold!  Please be sure that your children are wearing appropriate, seasonal clothing and have coats, hats, mittens, etc… as they will be going outside for recess on most days.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Tuesday, 11/29 - Grades 4 & 5 Chorus Concert (High School)
Wednesday, 11/30 - Crazy Hat Day
Thursday, 12/1 - Marimba Concert (Dale Street Gymnasium)
Wednesday, 12/7 - Half day of school - 11:40 a.m. dismissal
Monday, 12/12 - Term I Report Cards Sent Home

From the Dale Street School Family to yours, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
Enjoy the break!

As always, thank you for reading.

Sincerely,

Steve
