We had another great week here at #beproudbedale! Creative thinking, digital breakouts, Friday DJs and a visit from the Police Chief! Scroll through and take a look at some of the awesomeness from this past week!

On Wednesday, Medfield Police Chief, Michele Guerette visited Dale Street to read to Mr. Douglas' and Mrs. Flynn's fourth grade classes. Students loved the visit! Thanks Chief!
Students in Ms. Hayes' fourth grade class utilized a 'Haunted Halloween Breakout' this week as a way to reinforce their work with factors and multiples. Special thanks to fellow fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Dowd for sharing this cool activity! #fun #collaboration
- encourage all students to dress up in their costumes. Please note that students’ faces may not be covered with a mask, hood, or other item. Please do not allow your child to bring fake weapons into school to accompany his/her costume, and particularly violent themes should be avoided.
- will have Halloween themed activities. Activities will be teacher-directed and run throughout the day. The classroom teacher will reach out to head room parents if support is needed.
- will have a 'Party in a Bag'. Our very generous PTO will provide a brown bag to every student at Dale Street. These bags will be distributed on Friday, October 25th. Please have your child decorate (if they wish) or simply print their name on the brown paper bag. Please return the brown bag on October 31st, filled with a few of your child’s favorite food items. Some examples are: juice box or mini water bottle, small salty snack, fun sweet snack (cupcake, cookie), additional items could be a piece of fruit, a small yogurt, or any additional healthy snack. Adding a little note to your child's bag will definitely make them happy! Students' snack times and the Halloween themed activities will take place at different times depending on each class' schedule.
There was a lot of excitement this week during Mrs. Scott's science lessons. These fourth grade students used stream tables to observe erosion and deposition. What a great hands on learning experience!
Thank you to Kate in Mrs. Scott's class for sharing this week's book recommendation. Kate recommended Beyond the Bright Sea by Lauren Wolk. This book inspired Kate "to treat people that are different the same way I treat everyone else.' Thanks, Kate!
In Mr. Mason's fifth grade classroom this week, students used the book The Cricket in Times Square to find and discuss figurative language.

Students in Mrs. Nee's fifth grade class had some fun with double digit multiplication this week. These young learners were tasked with trying to escape a witch's brew by using their math skills.

In PE with Mrs. Nawrocki this week, Ms. Sager's grade five students had a chance to put the dribbling, passing and shooting skills they have been practicing into action as they participated in soccer games.
Medfield Winter Carnival Spiritwear Sale
Get your holiday shopping started and support the Medfield Elementary Schools PTOs. All orders will be done in time for the holidays. New look and new items to choose from this year!

Proceeds support the Winter Carnival fundraising efforts and help with the start up costs each year for the carnival.

The Dale Street Student Council representatives (with input from their classmates) have voted to collect mittens, hats, gloves and scarves to keep homeless adults warm this winter. There will be collection bins at Dale Street from November 12th - November 22nd to collect donated items.
Our next Spirit Day will be on Friday, November 22nd with the theme.....COMFY DAY!!
