August 30, 2019 - Week 1

Hello Dale Street Community!

The 2019-2020 school year started this week with energy, enthusiasm, and positivity.  What a way to begin!  The #beproudbedale students were met with a super greeting upon their arrival on Wednesday.  Special thanks to our awesome staff, Superintendent, Dr. Marsden, Director of Finance and Operations, Mr. LaFrancesca, Officer Manganello and members of Medfield's Police and Fire Departments.

Thursday, September 19th

Grade 5 - 6:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Specialists - 6:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Grade 4 - 6:45 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

On the first day, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with students in each grade level. Students participated in a 'buddy up' activity from our new SEL program, Sanford Harmony. Ask your child about the handshake they developed with their partner.

Today, Grade 5 students in Ms. Burnham's class and Ms. McKenzie's class teamed up to create 'Bucket Towers.' Students designed and built load bearing towers that included a suspended container. Awesome job!

We are presently looking for Grade 4 parents/guardians who would like to volunteer to serve on the Dale Street School Council.  This year meetings will be held on October 24th, January 16th, March 26th, and May 28th at 3:15 p.m. in the Dale Street Library Media Center. Please contact the Dale Street office (508) 359 - 5538 if you are interested.

On Wednesday, Ms. MacDonnell's fourth grade class collaborated to problem solve their way through an escape room. Well done!

Special thanks to our always generous PTO for the delicious snacks that brightened our first day!

Mr. Douglas' and Mrs. Flynn's fourth grade classes used Dale Street's Core Values along with a lot of critical thinking to participate in a team-building BreakoutEDU. So challenging! So Fun!

Again this year, the Dale Street School will have a Student Advisory Council.  The objective of this group will be to talk with their classmates about concerns/initiatives in their classroom and/or the school.  The Student Advisory Council will consist of one student from each homeroom in Grades 4 and 5. There will also be an alternate selected from each homeroom.  Students interested in serving on the Student Advisory Council must write a one paragraph letter of interest.  This letter of interest will be distributed on Friday, September 6th and must be received by the close of school on September 13th.  The Student Advisory Council will meet on a Friday morning each month (starting in October) at 8:45 AM for about 35 minutes.  I would like to thank Mrs. Vancura who has volunteered again to work with me on the Dale Street School Advisory Council.

Dale Street encourages you to join us in modeling three key messages:

School is important!

Your child can do it!

We are here to help him/her!
