Hello Dale Street Families,
We just completed another fantastic week at #beproudbedale and I continue to be very proud of our students and staff. Here are some snapshots from the week along with some important information regarding upcoming events/dates.
I'm pleased to announce that our Nurse Leader, Kathy Thompson has collaborated with Medfield parent Andrew Stein, (pharmacist/owner of Bird Hill Pharmacy in Needham and has done Flu Clinics at Park Street Books), to offer a COVID Vaccine Clinic at the Dale Street School on Tuesday, November 9th from 3:30-6:30 pm. All students ages 5 and up are welcome. If you are interested in an appointment please click here. Be sure to hit the submit and sign up at the bottom of the page and you will receive a confirmation email. We anticipate a second clinic in 3 weeks for the second dose of the vaccine. These appointments are offered on a first-come basis. Please complete: COVID-19 Vaccine Consent Form for Individuals 5-17 Years of Age and if you have insurance, please bring a copy of your insurance card. There is no cost for the vaccine.
In addition, the Medfield Public Schools has signed up to partner with the Commonwealth’s Mobile Vaccine Program and is waiting on a date to offer Covid vaccines to students after school or on a weekend. We anticipate a follow-up clinic will be scheduled 3 weeks later for second doses of the vaccine. We will send out more information as soon as we have a date.
If you would like more information about the Covid Vaccine please click here or contact your healthcare provider.
For information about the clinics, please contact Kathy Thompson at kthompson@email.medfield.net or 508-242-8573
It was a pleasure to meet with parents today at the first Principal's Coffee of the school year. The topics of discussion were family conferences, the new Elementary School Project, and the new elementary report card. Thank you to all who were able to attend and to the foodservice staff who provided coffee and snacks. If you were not able to attend, here are the slides from the presentation. They will also be uploaded to our website.
Dale Street had a magical spirit day today! Thank you to all the students and staff who participated in Disney Day!
This week, students in Ms. MacDonnell's fourth-grade classroom used their knowledge of multiplication facts to save the turkeys. What a fun collaborative activity!
This week grade 4 students focused on unpacking the idea of stereotypes in their weekly SEL (social-emotional learning) lesson. In Ms. Isaacson's fourth grade class, students had engaging discussions and used Nearpod.
Please remind your children to bring a mask to school each day and that masks are required any time they are in the school building. Additionally, please remind them to wear the mask properly at all times with the mask over both the nose and the mouth. We appreciate your support on this issue.
On Wednesday, grade 4 students in Mrs. Scott's class had a blast creating topographic maps. Students will further their knowledge in the next few weeks in the Makerspace integrating these ideas (with explorers and Google Maps) and creating an artifact.
The MHS Theatre Society is hard at work preparing to perform A Wrinkle in Time on November 19-20. The play follows the story of a teenage girl named Meg Murry. In this staged retelling of Madeleine L’Engle’s beloved young adult novel, A Wrinkle in Time, Meg embarks on an extraordinary adventure through time and space. Along with her younger brother Charles Wallace, their friend Calvin, and the guidance of various mysterious celestial beings, Meg attempts to locate her father and, perhaps, to save the world from a force of darkness beyond recognition.

Check this out...grade 5 students in Ms. Sager's class created these flat students and they are finally ready for some adventures - both big and small!
For the month of November, we are asking the students at Dale to make thank you cards at home for the special members of their community. Some examples would be for the police station, fire station, librarians, department of public works, Park Street Books, the elderly at Tilden Village, or any other organization in town that helps make Medfield special! Please have the students drop off their cards at the main office at Dale by November 19. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Alice Jreige, PTO Community Service Coordinator at alice.jreige@gmail.com
Parent/Teacher conferences are coming and conference dates are set for December 9th and 14th. Both days are early release days and conferences will be held via Zoom unless otherwise requested by a family. Classroom teachers will be reaching out by the end of next week to develop a schedule. Please reach out directly to your classroom teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Best, Steve
Respect * Compassion * Collaboration * Continuous Growth
