May 7, 2021 - Week 29

Hello Dale Street Families,

What a fantastic week!  On behalf of the staff at Dale Street, a HUGE thank you to our incredible PTO and all the families who donated time, funds, and food.  It has been a very challenging year for sure.  However, I am continuously blown away by the kindness and compassion families have displayed.  We appreciate your support - it means the world to us! Check this out...

This week, Teddy in Ms. Isaacson's fourth-grade classroom, turned into Teacher Teddy.  Students started their own compost to use for the mini garden outside. It is awesome watching students partake in the most authentic form of learning and shine while doing so.  #empower

Congratulations to our Positive Referrals this week for demonstrating Dale Street's Core Values!

Dale Street Student Council Food Cupboard Drive

When: Now thru Tuesday, May 25th

Where: Drop off in boxes outside the main office.

Requested Items: Men’s and Women's soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, sunscreen, and bug spray

**Students who bring in items get a raffle ticket and get to place their teacher's name on the back of it.  At the end of the collection, one ticket will be selected from the 4th-grade jar and 5th-grade jar to get an extra recess!

Dale Street's MCAS test sessions begin next week.  It is most important that students attend school on the days of testing, so please plan appointments in a way that does not interfere with your child being in school on the following testing dates:

ELA

Grade 5 - May 11th

Grade 4 - May 12th

Math

Grade 5 - May 18th

Grade 4 - May 19th

Science, Technology, and Engineering

Grade 5 - May 20th

Ms. Chamblin's fifth-grade students took time this week to compare and contrast the elements in two texts. Our students were very impressive in displaying literacy critical thinking skills - Bravo!

The Dale Street Math Challenge is on!  Students are free to solve as many problems as they can and will have about a week to turn in their work. Students can hand in a hard copy of the challenge to the office or email it to Mrs. Perachi (bperachi@email.medfield.net) prior to the due date.

More information, including a calendar of important dates and a link to download and print the challenges and solutions, is available here. Questions regarding the math challenge program can be directed to Dale Street math specialist, Mrs. Perachi.

Great to have Mr. LaFrancesca at Dale Street on Tuesday greeting students as they arrived.

MEDFIELD ALL NIGHT GRAD PARTY (ANGP) - Now ‘PARTY IN THE PARK'

Help us keep the decades-long Medfield tradition of safely celebrating MHS Senior’s Achievements!

Line the streets on June 5th at 1pm & wave the Seniors on.

If you, with your friends/community groups, would like to help decorate part of the route, please sign up to the allocated areas HERE

After the Rally, the Class of 2021 will attend a ‘Party in the Park.’

This will be a fun & safe space for the seniors to Celebrate together.

We really can’t do this without your kind support.

Any level of donation will be greatly appreciated.

Please donate here: www.medfieldangp.com

This week Mr. Davanage's Cohort D students worked together to solve and respond to Morse code messages.  So cool!

Looking to get your hands dirty? Join us on Friday, May 14th (half-day) to help make Dale Street School look its best!
