Last Friday (3/10) our 5th graders had an awesome experience at the Kids' Night Out! The night was filled with awesome games, inflatables, and great music. Special thanks to all of the parent volunteers.
Thank you to all the families who were able to join us for our Term II Positive Referral breakfast this morning. The Food Service department provided coffee, juice, and a variety of delicious treats for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to them for all of their support. Lastly, a huge thank you to all of the students who continue to demonstrate outstanding character here at Dale Street. We are so proud of you for making such great choices each and every day!
On a visit to Ms. MacDonald's class this week students shared their awesome math work! Students used Pic*Collage and Seesaw (Digital Student Portfolios) to show their learning. Congratulations on a job well done!

Thanks once again to the MCPE for supporting Dale Street. Dale Street's grant for 'standing desks' was generously approved by the MCPE this past week. These desks will provide an alternative seating arrangement for students who have difficulty sustaining a seated position for long periods of time during the school day. Mrs. Olson and the staff at Wheelock have started using standing desks this year and there has been very positive feedback from students and staff.
I use the Remind App to share school news. The Remind App sends out a text to all who have signed up for the service. Text 508-640-7746 and in the body of the text message type @dalestr You will get a response asking you to confirm your identity - reply with your first and last name. This is a secure and confidential way for me to send you a text message. I do not see your cell number and you do not see mine. If you would like to learn more about the Remind App, you can go to www.remind.com. I encourage you to sign up for the Remind App, and welcome any and all feedback.
Although we shared them earlier in the year, we want to remind you that Dale Street's MCAS administration will take place on:
- Grade 4: April 11, 12 and 13 (ELA) and May 16 and 17 (Mathematics).
- Grade 5: April 26, 27 and 28 (ELA), May 18 and 19 (Mathematics) and May 22 and 23 (Science, Technology and Engineering).
Make-up days will be scheduled immediately following each administration.
Please do not schedule appointments or vacations for these dates. Thanks!
This week in the #beproudbedale Makerspace.....
Grade 4 students had time to work together with Mrs. Cowell to solve a variety of integrated problems. The answers to these problems gave groups correct combinations to unlock codes and BREAKOUT! What a great way to collaborate and learn!

Special Olympics Fundraiser
Medfield will once again host the Special Olympics at Medfield High School on Friday, April 7th. In the meantime, to support our Medfield athletes and volunteers, Medfield schools will be holding fundraisers. Funds raised will provide snacks, water and other items for Medfield participants. On Friday, March 24th, Dale Street will hold a HAT DAY FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS! Students will be asked to make a monetary donation in any amount in order to wear a hat for the day. For those sending in checks, please make checks payable to Special Olympics Massachusetts; then in the memo line please write in ‘5 Town School Day Games Medfield’. Participation is voluntary. Thank you in advance for your support.
