June 6, 2025 - Week 37

 Hello Dale Street Community,

What a fantastic week here at #beproudbedale!  So many incredible things happened. It is amazing to think there are only 4 and a half days remaining in the '24-'25 school year.  Time certainly flies when you are having fun!

Today, Mr. Douglas' fourth-grade class facilitated a fantastic student-led assembly focused on kindness! ๐Ÿ’› These students did a wonderful job sharing powerful messages, including reflections and a song.  Thank you for reminding us all how small acts can make a big impact.

On Wednesday, the weather was great for the students to participate in an exciting Field Day.  Mrs. Nawrocki and Ms. Laughna worked hard to organize a successful day, leaving students with great memories.  This fantastic event served as a reminder of the importance of play, teamwork, and the sheer joy of being a part of the vibrant and supportive Dale Street community.

Check out Wednesday's Grade 5 Egg Drop! Students played the role of design engineers to create contraptions that would safely hold an egg. We have very talented students with such creative ideas!

As we close out the 2024-2025 school year, we want to say a huge thank you to our PTO, MCPE, and SEPAC for supporting the many programs, initiatives, and speakers that were brought to Dale Street and our district as a whole. We are so incredibly lucky!

Report Cards will be available for viewing on the Aspen Parent Portal on Friday, June 13th, at 1:00 PM.

A big shout-out to this year’s Dale Street Recycling Ambassadors! ๐ŸŒ Thank you for your commitment to making our school a cleaner, greener place. And a special thank you to Ms. Sager for leading and supporting this important work! ♻️๐Ÿ‘

Please save the date of Wednesday, June 11th, at 9:30 a.m. for Dale Street's Grade 5 Celebration. This year, the Grade 5 Celebration will take place on the basketball court outdoors, and we are hoping for dry and nice weather. Grade 5 families are welcome, and we are asking that all guests bring a lawn chair for seating in an area off the pavement. If there is inclement weather on this day, the celebration will be held in the gymnasium. If this is the case, we will only be able to welcome 2 guests per family for the celebration.

Celebration Invite

On Monday, students and staff were treated to shaved ice. Huge thank you to our amazing PTO for funding this great opportunity!

K-5 Medfield Public Schools is excited to share information about our carnival-themed summer reading program! Summer reading is both fun and important. We are hoping for high participation numbers in our program this year. Mr. Grenham and Mrs. Beaudoin presented the Dale Street summer reading challenges to all incoming fourth graders and soon-to-be fifth graders.

Summer Reading Tracker: Click here for student tracking sheet.  This should be turned in within the first two weeks of school.

Instructional Video: Click this link for an informational video walking students/parents through the program.

If the video does not work here is the presentation:  Directions Slideshow

Medfield Public Schools also promotes the Medfield Public Library Summer Reading program.  This program has great activities and incentives for students to participate in all summer long! Click here for more information about the public library summer reading program.

Today, former Dale Street Rockstars were back at #BeProudBedale to share their Blake Middle School experiences with our Grade 5 students.  Students love this annual tradition that helps them better understand daily life at the Middle School.

Elementary Math Website
Although summer is an essential time for students to relax and unwind, it is also a fantastic time for them to process and apply what they have learned so they can make mathematical connections. Check out our new elementary math website where you can find resources and information to support your mathematician all summer long!

School Supply Kits for Dale Street Elementary students are now available for purchase. Click the link below and choose the grade your child will be entering for the 2025-26 school year. These school supply kits will be delivered to your child's 4th or 5th-grade classroom for the start of school. A portion of the proceeds goes back to our elementary school PTOs. https://1stdayschoolsupplies.com/gs/48607

Transition Day for current Grade 4 & Grade 5 students will be held on Thursday, June 12th. Grade 5 students will ride the bus over to Blake Middle School in the morning, where they meet their cluster teachers and learn a little more about next year before returning to Dale Street for the remainder of the school day. Grade 4 students will visit their new fifth-grade teacher and classmates and learn a little about why Grade 5 is so great before returning to their Grade 4 classrooms for the remainder of their day. A welcome email from your child’s new teacher will be shared with families on Thursday afternoon.

Special thanks to Blake Middle School students for visiting Dale Street this week to present 'Creature Features.'  These students truly did a fantastic job, and it was so cool to have Dale Street alumni back at our school.

Please make sure all Dale Street Library books are returned to school ASAP.  Thank you for your cooperation in making sure our library is ready for next year's students.
