Hello Dale Street Families!
As we wrap up what has been a very challenging week, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the phenomenal staff members we are fortunate to have here at Dale Street. This past week was Teacher Appreciation Week—Please join me in thanking the amazing Dale Street team for their dedication, care, and unwavering commitment to our students and school community.
Take a minute to check out some of the scenes, and be sure to check out some of the upcoming dates at the bottom of the blog.
A HUGE thank you to our phenomenal PTO for their generosity this week during Staff Appreciation Week. From snacks to treats, to an incredible lunch on Wednesday - the week was amazing!

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals!
FLOWER POWER DAY (PreK-5 Spirit Day)
In an effort to promote random acts of kindness, Dale Street will join Wheelock and Memorial and have Flower Power Spirit Day. On Thursday, May 15, 2025, all students are asked to bring in a flower of their choice. This can be a flower from a garden or a store-bought flower. Each classroom will be filling vases with the flowers brought in to create a beautiful bouquet and talking about random acts of kindness. We will then distribute the flowers to members of our Dale Street Community. Students and staff are encouraged to wear floral prints and/or bright colors. Participation is optional. Thank you for supporting this “kind” event!
As part of Climate Week in Medfield, Dale Street students and staff participated in a walk/bike to school event on Wednesday. It was a perfect morning for it! Big thanks to our awesome PTO, all of the parent volunteers, the Medfield Police Department, and Superintendent Marsden for supporting this great initiative.

Special Olympics - Rescheduled
Due to today's inclement weather, the Special Olympics has been rescheduled until Monday, May 12th. Medfield HS is hosting the event this year, and Dale Street will have four student athletes participating. Events are anticipated to begin at approximately 9:15 AM and will conclude between 11:15/11:30 AM. If you and your child are interested in attending to support our athletes, transportation must be provided by the parent/guardian. If your child attends, the morning absence will be considered excused. Your student will be expected to return to school by 12:00 p.m. If you choose to keep your student out of school for the afternoon, the remainder of the day will be considered unexcused.
Congratulations to Dale Street's Artist of the Month for May!
Skylar in Ms. Hayes' fourth-grade class
Please save the date of Wednesday, June 11th, at 9:30 a.m. for Dale Street's Grade 5 Celebration. This year, the Grade 5 Celebration will take place on the basketball court outdoors, and we are hoping for dry and nice weather. Grade 5 families are welcome, and we are asking that all guests bring a lawn chair for seating in an area off the pavement. If there is inclement weather on this day, the celebration will be held in the gymnasium. If this is the case, we will only be able to welcome 2 guests per family for the celebration.
💙 Honor Medfield teachers and staff for making a difference in students' lives with MCPE
Teachers, specialists, and school staff go above and beyond every day—sparking curiosity, building confidence, offering support, and helping students thrive. MCPE’s Blue Ribbon Recognition Program is a powerful way to say “thank you” to those who have made a lasting impact on your child’s life. Whether it’s a teacher who inspired a love of reading, a guidance counselor who provided a listening ear, or a specialist who helped unlock your child’s potential, you can honor them with a donation to MCPE in their name. Your gift not only celebrates their dedication but also supports innovative programs in our schools.
Recipients are notified of donations, invited to be honored at MCPE's Annual Meeting, and presented with special messages from students and families.

Dale Street Reading Specialist, Mrs. Bassett, had some fun this week with students in Mrs. Scott's fourth-grade class. The theme...You’re never too old for a good picture book!
