Hello Dale Street Community!

Wow, what an incredible week! Please take a minute to scroll through this week's blog to see the awesome things our rockstars students and staff were involved in and stay up to date for upcoming events.

On Thursday, grade 5 students in Mrs. Chamblin's class participated in a hands-on science experiment creating storms to explore beach erosion. Huge thanks to the MCPE for funding this awesome grade 5 grant!

Our last Kids Night Out event is coming up in a few weeks! Please see the links below to sign your child up for the 4th Grade Night (May 10th) or the 5th Grade Night (May 17th). We also need a lot of volunteers so we'd appreciate any help! The sign-up genius for the volunteers is located on the permission slip.

As part of Climate Week in Medfield, Dale Street students and staff participated in a walk/bike to school event on Thursday. It was a perfect morning for it! Big thanks to all of the parent volunteers, the Medfield Police Department, and Superintendent Marsden for supporting this great initiative.

Thursday, May 23rd - FLOWER POWER DAY

In an effort to promote random acts of kindness, Dale Street (in conjunction with Wheelock and Memorial) will have a Flower Power Day. On Thursday, May 23, 2024, all students are asked to bring in a flower of their choice. This can be a flower from a garden or a store-bought flower. Each classroom will be filling vases with the flowers brought in to create a beautiful bouquet. We will then distribute the flowers to members of our Dale Street Community. Students and staff are encouraged to wear floral prints and/or bright colors. Participation is optional. Thank you for supporting this “kind” event!

The SEPAC Board needs YOU! Our annual elections are coming up, and we need parents & caregivers with children in the Medfield School district who have an IEP or 504 to take on roles. If you were looking for a sign to get involved, this is it! We have three members rolling off the board and need people to fill spots. Please contact sepac@email.medfield.net for more information.

Could you design the perfect personalized backpack? With the help of the Design Thinking process our Dale Street 4th graders are busy doing just that. So excited to see their final designs!

Field day times for the 2023-2024 school year have been determined. Please see the schedule below for June 4th (rain date June 5th). Activities will be held outside on the field between Dale and Memorial with additional details being shared closer to the event. We hope you can join us!

All submissions are due by Friday, May 10.

Please save the date of Tuesday, June 11th at 9:30 a.m. for Dale Street's Grade 5 Celebration. This year, the Grade 5 Celebration will take place on the basketball court outdoors and we are hoping for dry and nice weather. Grade 5 families are welcome and we are asking that all guests bring a lawn chair for seating in an area off the pavement. If there is inclement weather on this day, the celebration will be held in the gymnasium. If this is the case, we will only be able to welcome 2 guests per family for the celebration.

Fifth graders were engaged with coding the new MCPE-funded Sphero RVR+ robots during their tech time with Mr. Ahern this week. Along with learning how to program the robots to move, students were challenged to build a ramp for the RVRs to cross. Great coding & engineering skills 5th graders!

The end of the school year can be very busy with a lot of fun and exciting events. We have created this calendar that will hopefully help families keep track of all the wonderful things happening at #beproudbedale over the final 6 weeks of school.
