Hello Dale Street Community!
It was a busy, productive, and fantastic week here at #beproudbedale! Please take a minute to scroll through to get a snapshot of the week and be sure to check in about some of our upcoming events.
Last Friday, the PTO Kids' Night Out returned! It was such a fun and exciting carnival experience for our Dale Street 4th graders. Special thanks to all of the parents who volunteered. I am excited to visit Grade 5's night tonight.
I want to take a moment to express my thanks to this year's Dale Street Site Council members (Lynne Nicholas, Kristin Martin, Emily Hutton, Nia Jacobs, Tom Ramslow, Margot Hayes, Kelsey McKenzie, and Kristen LeVangie) for their dedication and hard work this year. Their efforts have truly made a difference at Dale Street. Thank you for your time, energy, and commitment to making our school a better place for everyone.
Yesterday, Grade 4 students in Mrs. Flynn's classroom facilitated a fantastic student-led Social Emotional Learning assembly focusing on expected vs. unexpected behaviors. These students did an incredible job!

Special thanks to Brandon from Ms. Burnham's class for gifting me this awesome "10 Things to Know" paper. The end says it all - Be Kind! |
Thursday, May 23rd - FLOWER POWER DAY
In an effort to promote random acts of kindness, Dale Street (in conjunction with Wheelock and Memorial) will have a Flower Power Day. On Thursday, May 23, 2024, all students are asked to bring in a flower of their choice. This can be a flower from a garden or a store-bought flower. Each classroom will be filling vases with the flowers brought in to create a beautiful bouquet. We will then distribute the flowers to members of our Dale Street Community. Students and staff are encouraged to wear floral prints and/or bright colors. Participation is optional. Thank you for supporting this “kind” event!

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals!
This week, students in Mrs. Gutierrez's fourth-grade class used the information from the National Parks they wrote to at the beginning of the year for their current Regions’ Research Project! Full circle learning!

Special thanks to Mrs. Kenworthy for taking time today to make our planter so beautiful! |
As in past years, the PTO is partnering with 1st Day School Supplies to get all your school supplies for your student for next school year. All name brand supplies will be packaged individually for your student. Items will be shipped to the school and ready for your child on their first day. A portion of the proceeds supports PTO programs throughout the year. Don’t delay - sale ends July 1st!

Please see the links below to sign your child up for the 5th Grade Night (tonight). We also need a lot of volunteers so we'd appreciate any help! The sign-up genius for the volunteers is located on the permission slip.
Dale Street held an Art Show reception on Tuesday night. There were a lot of fantastic student pieces on display. Special thanks to Dale Street Art Teacher, Mrs. Delaney for organizing a great evening!
On Wednesday morning, former Dale Street Rockstars were back at #BeProudBedale to share their Blake Middle School experiences with our Grade 5 students. Students love this annual tradition that helps them better understand daily life at the Middle School.
Dale Street students will be honoring our veterans and those currently serving our country through music and remarks on Friday, May 24th. The program will be held outside (weather permitting) on the Dale Street side of the building. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to last approximately 30 minutes. Upon completion of the program, students will return with their teachers to their classrooms.
Positive Sign Thursday!
'WE ARE UNIQUE!'
On Tuesday, students in Mrs. Scott's fourth-grade classroom played the role of Caldecott selectors highlighting awesome illustrated Children's Books. Great collaboration!

Every school district is required to have a SEPAC, but how effective the SEPAC is is up to the parents in that district. The Medfield SEPAC Board needs YOU! Our annual elections are coming up, and we need parents & caregivers with children in the Medfield School district who have an IEP or 504 to take on roles. If you were looking for a sign to get involved, this is it! Four members are rolling off the board, and we need people to join us! Please contact sepac@email.medfield.net for more information. Sometimes, there's a perception that a child's disability/diagnosis needs to present in a certain way or severity to join SEPAC, but SEPAC is for EVERYONE. So please mark your calendars for our spring Workshops & Parent Connection Groups:
5/21 Partnering with the Medfield PTO & Medfield Outreach & Medfield District to offer two sessions focused on transitions:
7 pm High School Transition Planning w/ Meredith Becker and Stephanie Worthley, Blake Middle School Library
7:30 pm Memorial to Wheelock to Dale to Blake Transitions led by Parent Panelists, Blake Middle School Gym
5/28 Selfcare for Summer - Join us for an evening dedicated to self-care and wellness at the Medfield SEPAC & Medfield Outreach Sponsored Self Care for Summer Night! Discover local wellness offerings, gain insights from Medfield Outreach's presentation on self-care, and experience a rejuvenating breathwork session led by trauma-informed breathwork facilitator Hannah Oxley. If you know a local wellness provider who'd like to join us, please email us!
6/11 End-of-year Celebration for families. More information to come
We are looking at adding the following parent connection groups: Anxiety & Depression, Intellectual and Developmental Disability, Allergy (need a coordinator). Please email us if you are interested in joining one of these three groups! RSVP for events by using our RSVP form: https://forms.gle/SeeQg6Apmngad5dq7.
Our Grade 5 students have been doing a fabulous job sharing their History & Me research projects and artifacts. Below are a few pictures from Ms. Condon's class.
