January 12, 2024 - Week 19

Hello Dale Street Families,

What an amazing week it has been at #beproudbedale! There was a lot of excitement to start the week with our first sizable snow in years. This week there were so many great things happening in and out of the classrooms.  I am so proud of our outstanding students and dedicated teachers. They are such a joy to be around each day! I encourage everyone to explore this week's blog and stay informed.

This morning Dale Street held a Hero Day assembly.  Students heard about heroes, watched a short video, and one student from each classroom shared about their own hero. Students and staff were invited to dress up like their heroes.  Special thanks to our student readers and the Student Council representatives for facilitating the assembly. If you would like to watch the assembly, you can do so by clicking here.  Big thanks to Mrs. Gilberti for filming the assembly.

On Thursday, we celebrated with a Positive Referral breakfast. Thank you to all of the families who attended and special thanks to our cafeteria staff for providing the delicious refreshments. Congratulations to all of the Positive Referrals who attended the breakfast and congratulations to all who earned a Positive Referral so far this year!

Thank you to everyone who attended last Tuesday's webinar focusing on digital citizenship as part of our Supporting Students Series. Special thanks to our awesome technology integrationists, Mr. Ahern and Mrs. Foley for presenting! If you were unable to make it to the live presentation, here is a link to the recording. I am excited about what’s to come in our next presentation!

This week our Makerspace was transformed into a “clean room” with a simulated air shower so our 5th-grade engineers could begin designing and building their satellite prototypes. Great things are being created!!! More to come!!!

Positive Sign Thursday!

WE ARE DETERMINED!!!

Bravo to our Dale Street musicians!  On Wednesday, our fourth and fifth-grade orchestras and on Thursday our fourth and fifth-grade bands performed for their family and guests.  Their music was outstanding and all of the attendees enjoyed the performances.  Thank you to Mrs. Evans, Mr. Sergi, Mrs. Stover, Mr. Bielik, Mr. Dexter, and Mrs. Tumbleson for their outstanding leadership.

Scientists at work...This week students in Ms. MacDonnell's fourth-grade classroom experimented to observe if the height and distance of marbles affects their speed?
