April 7, 2023 - Week 29

 Dear Dale Street Community,

Amazing week here at #beproudbedale!  I would like to commend our Grade 4 students who completed their ELA MCAS testing.  They were awesome!  Their MCAS testing was only one small part of our week.  Check out some of the wonderful scenes...

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals!

Positive Sign Thursday!

"BE THE SUNSHINE ON A RAINY DAY!"

On Wednesday, students in Ms. Sager's fifth-grade class had a great time on their Walking Classroom outing!

Wednesday was National Paraprofessional Day.  We are fortunate to have such an amazing, dedicated team of Paraprofessionals at Dale Street who continually go above and beyond to make a difference for our students and school community. Please join me in thanking them for the incredible work they do every day.

This letter was sent out to Grade 4 families offering parents the opportunity to share information about their child's for next year’s placement at Dale Street.  The information that you share will be used to assist me with the student placement process for the 2023 – 2024 school year.  When corresponding about placement, parents are asked to focus on the type of learning environment that best meets the strengths and needs of their child.  Please know that throughout the placement process our focus will be on placing your child in a classroom in which they will grow both academically and socially.  Parent input narratives should be sent in no later than Friday, April 14th.  For other suggestions regarding the parent narrative, please see this slide deck which was shared during the Elementary Principals' Placement webinar on 3/29.

2023 Dale St School 5th Grade Variety Show

This week some of our Grade 5 classrooms invited guests into Dale Street to display their 'History and Me' projects.  Students were so happy and proud to present their hard work to all who attended.  There will be more classrooms presenting next week.

Our March Madness finals are here.  The teams are the Baguette Ballers vs. The Wet McNuggets and the books are Wings of Fire vs. Swim Team.  We will crown the champions on Thursday at an all-school assembly.  So exciting!

This week, Grade 4 students in Ms. MacDonnell used the computer platform, Blooket to learn about the Southeast region.  Students loved the addition of some friendly competition.

Tuesday was National School Librarian Day!  Dale Street is so fortunate to have Mrs. Lowerre and Mrs. Knott running the Dale Street library and creating such reading fun and excitement!

On Thursday, fifth-grade scientists in Mrs. Skinner's class collaborated to figure out how they can protect Earth's environment.  Students explored how organisms depend on one another and form an interconnected ecosystem.
