November 4, 2022 - Week 10

 Happy Friday, Dale Street Families!

It was a sensational and busy week here at Dale Street!   The weather at the end of the week was incredible!  It was great fun having students show up in their Halloween costumes on Monday! Here are some exciting things that took place this week and some important information regarding upcoming events.

Wednesday, November 9th and Thursday, November 10th are early release days. Students will be dismissed at 11:40am. Please be sure to check School Dismissal Manager to see what your student’s dismissal plan is for those days. Unless you make a change, your student will be dismissed per their regular end-of-day plan. If you need to make a change, please do so before 10:30am on the day of early dismissal.

Check this out..this week grade 4 students participated in a really cool coding activity with Dale Street Technology Integrationist, Mr. Ahearn and our MCPE-funded Ozobots.  You can see it on their faces and feel it in the atmosphere - the students love it!

On Tuesday, November 1st, Dr. Marsden sent out an email informing families that the Medfield Public Schools has partnered with Panorama Education and we will be asking our students to reflect on their approaches to learning via an online survey.  At Dale Street, students will participate in the approximately 15-minute survey in their classroom on Monday, November 7th or Tuesday, November 8th.  The survey will ask students to self-reflect on Social Emotional Learning topics such as: Emotional Regulation, Social Awareness, Self-Management. and Grit.  The responses to these surveys will be completely confidential. Later this month, parents and teachers/staff will also be asked to participate in Panorama surveys. The information from all surveys will be used to inform the development of Medfield Public Schools' new strategic plan. The surveys are nationally normed and Dr. Marsden will share the results once the analyses are complete. If for some reason you do not want your child to participate in this survey, please contact me.  A special thank you to the “Onward Initiative” for funding these important surveys.
