November 10, 2022 - Week 11

 Hello Dale Street Families!

On behalf of the Dale Street staff, thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in parent-teacher conferences this week.  We believe the home-school partnership is paramount for student success and these discussions are important opportunities to help improve a child’s achievement and happiness, inside and outside the classroom. Please note that Term 1 closes on November 23rd. Report cards will be issued on December 9th and will include information from both classroom teachers and specialists.  Information regarding our standards-based report card will be sent out to families in early December.

Last Friday, the PTO held a Grade 4 Movie Night!  It was such a fun night for our #beproudbedale 4th graders. Special thanks to all of the parents who volunteered.  I am excited to visit Grade 5's Movie Night tonight.

In World Language this week with Senora LeVangie, Grade 5 students wrote about pastimes and sports. ¿Qué te gusta hacer?

Dale Street intramurals are in full swing.  Check out the engagement of students in Mrs. Seaver's Turing Tumbles intermural.  Students love this intramural!  Huge thanks to the incredibly generous MCPE for funding this great pre-coding activity!

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals!

Livinia was recognized for reflecting the spirit of Compassion and Collaboration.

Sam was recognized for modeling kindness and Respect.

During the week of November 14th - 18th, Dale Street students will be participating in jogging the mile in Physical Education classes. Please remind your children to wear sneakers to school and bring a water bottle! If your child normally uses an inhaler, please make sure the school nurse has one available for them.

Thank you to Rear Admiral, Daniel J. MacDonnell (Ms. MacDonnell's father) for visiting Dale Street on Wednesday.

Friday, November 18th is Spirit Day! Add a little bit of magic to Dale Steet by
dressing up as your favorite Disney character!

Positive Sign Thursday!

'YOU ARE VALUED!'

This week, Grade 4 students in Mrs. Scott's class used graphic organizers and checklists to dive deeper into realistic fiction writing.  Well done, young learners!
