October 2, 2020 - Week 3

Dear Dale Street Families,

We had a great week here at #beproudbedale.  The students are totally knocking it out of the park. I am so proud of their efforts all the way around.  Take a look at some of the awesomeness that happened at Dale Street this week...

Today, Grade 4 students in Ms. Slachta's class used the computer program Nearpod to work on adding and subtracting multi-digit whole numbers.

Wheelock principal, Mrs. Caulfield and I will be hosting a Google Classroom/Learning Expectations webinar on Tuesday, October 13th at 5:00 p.m.  We have developed this form for parents to submit questions pertaining to Google Classroom and learning expectations prior to the webinar.  We ask that all questions be turned in by Friday, October 9th.  This webinar will be recorded for individuals who may not be available on 10/13 at 5:00 p.m.  Here is the information for the webinar:

In PE class with Mrs. Nawrocki this week, Grade 5 students from Ms. Sager's class worked on their throwing motion using frisbees.  The students had fun playing the game 'horse' with the frisbees.

Today in Science, students in Ms. Hayes' fourth-grade class explored the effects of acid rain.  Students loved having the chance to participate in this hands-on activity.

Students in Mrs. Dowd's Cohort D Grade 4 class also spent time this week working on adding and subtracting multi-digit whole numbers.

Dale St School pictures will be held as follows:

Tuesday, Oct 6 - Cohort A

Wednesday, Oct 7 - Cohort D (outside in tent near pillars)-  Please signup for a time for your pictures using the signup sheet that was emailed to you.

Tuesday, Nov 17 - Cohort A retakes

Thursday, Nov 19 - Cohort B retakes

All students may also order pictures online by visiting mylifetouch.com using Picture Day ID: EVTB86TRX

This week, students in Ms. Johnson's Grade 5 class spent time diving deeper into setting.  Students had the chance to use their creativity when sketching the setting from their favorite book.  Great work, young learners!

This week, students in Ms. Isaacson's fourth-grade class took full advantage of the beautiful fall weather and participated (outside 😄) in their first reading reflection.
