November 8, 2019 - Week 11

Dear Dale Street Families,

What a terrific week here at #beproudbedale!  Designing, creating, learning, after school intramurals, Family Literacy Night, and a continued focus on social emotional learning all in full swing here at Dale Street!  Your kids are amazing!  Thank you for sharing them with us each day!

Congratulations to our Positive Referrals this week! Way to go!

Thank you to all the Dale Street families who came out to Family Literacy Night last evening.  There were so many amazing opportunities for the students and their families. Special thanks to Jamee Callahan for organizing such a great event, our fabulous PTO, the wonderful staff volunteers, and the many, many families who attended!

We love and have had such great feedback regrading School Dismissal Manager.  However, the office staff is seeing a growing trend over the past few weeks where students (some days maybe 30 students) are coming to the office after the dismissal report is read by their teachers asking to confirm dismissal plans because students feel that they are not accurate.  Although we always love seeing and interacting with our amazing students, I am sure you can understand how very challenging it is to get all the students the information they are seeking, confused about, or confirming in the last 20-30 minutes of the school day.  We ask that you have a conversation with your child(ren) the night before or the morning of school to remind them what you filled out for that day on School Dismissal Manager.  Thank you in advance for you support with this very important process!

Thank you to Quinn for our book recommendation this week.  Quinn recommended Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga.  This book inspires her 'to be brave and hopeful when things get tough.'  Thanks, Quinn!

Students in Ms. Bertschmann's fifth grade class created this wonderful bulletin board full of inspirational phrases for the students and staff at Dale Street!  You all rock!  #compassion
