Greetings Dale Street Families!

What a fun and productive week at #beproudbedale! Please take a minute and scroll through to check out all the happenings.
Student-Led/Family conferences continue next week.  On Tuesday, December 11th, we will have an early  dismissal (11:40 AM) for our students.  Please don't forget to update your child's dismissal plans on School Dismissal Manager.  We look forward to seeing you.
Congratulations to Dale Street's Girls on the Run participants as they competed in the Angel Run last weekend.  So proud of this great group!  Way to go!

Thank you to all of the families who were able to join us for the first Positive Referral breakfast of the 2018-2019 school year.  The Food Service department provided coffee, juice, and a variety of delicious treats for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to them for all of their hard work organizing this event.  Lastly, a huge thank you to all of the students who continue to demonstrate outstanding character.  We are so proud of you for making such great choices each and every day!

This week students in Ms. DiPesa's fourth grade classroom used a creative way to gain a deeper understanding of remainders.  Students made sticker books and then generated mathematical questions.

Congratulations to these two students who won November's Math Challenge!  Special thanks to Mrs. Wells for coordinating these challenges.

Mrs. Flynn's fourth grade students took a road trip to Canada this week as they kicked off their Canada/Mexico unit.  Safe travels!

The Lost & Found is overflowing!  Please come take a look for any missing coats, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, water bottles, hats, gloves, etc.  All unclaimed items will be donated on 12/21.

Thanks to Grace in Mrs. Crable's class for reading today's book recommendation.  Grace recommended 13 Gifts by Wendy Mass  for "someone who loves a book that has surprises and twists on every page!"  Grace rated this book '10 stars'  Thanks Grace!

The Dale Street Student Advisory Council met last week and initiated the idea of creating holiday cards for individuals in the military, residents of the Thomas Upham House, and patients at Children's Hospital.  Dale Street students are encouraged to create cards for one, two, or all three of these groups.  Students may create as many cards as they wish.  The specifics for the cards are:
*Written on 8 1/2 x 11 paper
*Just include first name (no personal information)
*Some possible ideas: draw holiday items, thank you for your service, get well soon, stay strong, stay safe, happy holidays, happy New Year
*Students can make more than one card if they want

*Cards are due back to school by Wednesday, December 12th

To help support Medfield's Home Committee, the Student Advisory Council (with input from their classmates) has decided to have a Hat Day on Wednesday, December 12th. We will have a suggested donation of $1 to participate.  All proceeds will go to Medfield's Home Committee.

Our Guidance staff has scheduled a parent coffee on Mindfulness on Friday, December 14th at the Memorial School.  Please check out the flyer below.

As always, thank you for reading.  Have a great weekend!
