February 2, 2018 - Week 22

Greetings Dale Street Community!

What an amazing start to February at #beproudbedale!  Take a minute to scroll through to see some of the wonderful things that happened this week.

Today, fifth grade students Skyped with author Cece Bell.  Cece is the author of El Deafo, Dale Street's all school read two summers ago.  What a treat to have our young learners listen to a published author and ask student-created questions to her!

Check out this video....Ms. DiPesa's fourth grade students are certainly not learning math in a traditional way.  What a creative, fun way to integrate math and music!

Positive Referral!!!
This student received a Positive Referral this week for demonstrating compassionate and collaboration. Great job!

On a visit to Mr. Stevens physical education class on Wednesday, students spent time rotating through fitness stations. It was great to see students having so much fun and engaging in these great exercises!

So exciting.....the brackets for Dale Street's Tournament of Books are all set!

Thanks to Sienna in Mrs. Scott's class for reading today's book recommendation. Sienna recommended Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier for "people who like graphic novels" because "it is scary but at the same time is funny."  Sienna rated this book 5 stars!  Thanks Sienna!

The clock is ticking on our online Treasured Experiences Auction.  Bidding closes this Friday night February 2nd at 8pm sharp.  Don't miss out on the 170+ amazing experiences and access to special events provided in there.  Here is the link to bid and good luck!

Thank you for supporting the Medfield Coalition for Public Education!

Dale Street is so excited and unbelievably grateful to MCPE for supporting and funding our new virtual reality viewfinders!

Valentine's Day is fast approaching....very exciting! In an effort to ensure safety for all of our students and staff, we are requesting that no food/candy be sent in with Valentine's cards. Teachers will be sending out information in the coming week to detail specific classroom celebrations. The Head Room Parent will be coordinating this effort.  Please keep food and drink to these four categories: something crunchy, something sweet, healthy fruit, and water.  Additionally, please be sensitive of allergies within classrooms.  The snack time and the Valentine's themed activities will take place at different times depending on students’ schedules. Thank you in advance for your assistance to help create a fun and safe day at Dale Street!

Congratulations to these ROCK STAR Dale Street students!  They were all part of the Medfield U10 Girls Hockey Team that recently won the District Championship!  Way to go!

Dale Street teachers used the afternoon on Thursday to gain a deeper understanding of MA Science, Technology, and Engineering Life Science standards.  #collaboration #continuous growth

 Have a great weekend!
