Dear Dale Street,
Happy Vacation! Our teachers continue to do incredible work, and our students are meeting high standards and reaching their goals. I am so proud of their effort and determination this year! Please take a few minutes to check out some of the highlights from this week.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals!
Over the past two weeks, Dale Street 5th graders have been learning about water conservation and stormwater with experts from the Neponset River Watershed Association. π§ A huge thank you to the Town of Medfield for supporting this important program!

The 2025 -2026 District Calendar was approved by the School Committee at their meeting last night. It can be found here on the website.

March teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 6th and Friday, March 7th. In-person meetings will be scheduled, however, a virtual option through Google Meet will be available upon request. At the March conferences, teachers will be sharing information with you about your child’s academic and social-emotional development over the past few months and will be discussing recommendations/goals for your child over the next few months of school. Families are encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback about their child’s school experience.
As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 school year, we continue to view family input as one of the many essential components in student placement. Families will have an opportunity to complete a Google Form where they can provide pertinent information to assist in our placement procedure. The Google Form and specifics regarding this procedure will be sent home at the beginning of April. Should you have any questions after receiving this information, please do not hesitate to contact me at sgrenham@email.medfield.net. In addition, the Elementary Principals will be hosting a webinar at the end of March-beginning of April to discuss placement if you would like to learn about the process we utilize when placing students. More information will be shared soon.
We truly hope you take advantage of this opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher and other members of the Dale Street staff at the March conferences. Thank you in advance for collaborating with us and taking an active role in your child’s education.

Check out what MAP did for the Dale Street staff—delicious popcorn and thoughtful cards! πΏπ Thank you, MAP, for your kindness and generosity! |
Students in Mrs. Hayes' fifth-grade class had a blast working with Mr. Ahern on coding to create animations using our MCPE-funded Sphero Bolts! π So much creativity in action!

3/11 - Incoming 6th Grade Information Night at 6:30 p.m. Blake Middle School
This night is for all parents/guardians of incoming sixth-grade (current fifth-grade) students. Staff will be presenting information about the 6th-grade program of studies and curriculum, previewing the students' experience that they will have next year along with an overview of the middle school.
I had a great time visiting Ms. Sager's fifth-grade classroom this week and learning about students' research projects! The topics were fascinating, the work was impressive, and the students were absolutely awesome! ππ

We are excited to share that on March 17, 2025, Medfield Cares About Prevention will once again host a virtual parent program featuring Stephen Hill, a nationally recognized speaker on substance use prevention, mental health, and resilience.
Stephen is the founder of Speak Sobriety, a person in recovery, a bestselling author, a recovery coach, and an attorney. With experience presenting to thousands of people at over 500 schools and coalitions nationwide, he brings valuable insights from both personal and professional perspectives.
In this session, Stephen will provide parents with practical strategies to help their children build resilience, make healthy choices, and navigate challenges. In addition to the parent program, he will also speak with Medfield High School juniors and seniors.
This event is free and open to the public. Please see the flyer link below for registration details.
ππ Sign up for the 2025 MCPE Spelling Bee ππ
This year’s Spelling Bee is coming up on March 12th from 4-8pm and team registration is now open! In this low-stress team approach to a spelling bee, there is no spelling out loud in front of the crowd. When the moderator reads a word, team members practice T-E-A-M-W-O-R-K and write down the correct spelling. There are several rounds for each age group, and winning teams will be crowned for grades 2-3 and grades 4-5. Dale students will compete first, followed by Wheelock students.
Decide with your student if they’ll participate as a solo speller or on a team. Solo spellers are grouped together to create a team.
Teams can be between 2-4 students; to register a team you’ll need the names of all the members.
Last but certainly not least - be ready with a fun team name! Costumes and creative themes are encouraged but not required.
Cost is $20 per person and each participant will receive a small prize. The event will be held at Medfield High School Auditorium, and all proceeds will go to benefit Medfield Public Schools.
Big thank you to our sponsor for this year’s Spelling Bee, Medfield Orthodontics!
Make a difference - become a part of the MCPE team!
If you are interested in becoming an MCPE Board Member, we would love to hear from you. We’re looking for candidates who:
1️⃣ Can commit to a 3 year term
2️⃣ Can attend board meetings once a month
3️⃣ Have an active interest in enriching kids’ education in Medfield schools
This year, we have specific needs for applicants to help with our publicity/social media π£, treasurer duties π΅, events/fundraising and website.
