Scientist alert...This week scientists in Mrs. Scott's fourth-grade class tested their structures on a shake table to simulate a 2, 6, and 9-level earthquake on the Richter Scale. Well done, young learners!
Math Challenge 7 is now available. Students are encouraged to solve as many problems as they can. We hope that all students and families find these problems to be a challenging and fun activity.
More information, including a calendar of important dates and a link to download and print the challenges and solutions, is available here. Any questions regarding the math challenge program can be directed to Dale Street math specialist, Ms. Perachi.
The Challenge is now available and is due on 1/18/2023
This week, Grade 4 students continued their 'Slides Badge Training' with Technology Integrationist, Mr. Ahern. Students enjoyed learning about all the tools that they have access to when using Google Slides.
Next Friday, January 13th, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, we will be celebrating “Hero Day” at Dale Street. Students and staff are encouraged to dress up as their “Hero”. We will have a whole school assembly and one student from each classroom will read about their hero. I encourage all students to think about writing a 1 paragraph story about someone they think is a hero. Here is the writing outline and graphic organizer for the writing that I shared with students this week.
Positive Sign Thursday!
THIS IS YOUR YEAR TO SPARKLE!!!
On a visit to Ms. DiPesa's classroom this week, I observed class Chromebook captains presenting to the class. Their advice was very important and well-received. Bravo!
The Medfield Class of 2025 is selling dog leashes to support their class. All dog leashes cost $25. When the dog leashes come in (we anticipate they will be in by mid-January), they can be picked up outside Medfield High School and they can be paid for at that time. The $25 can be paid in cash or a check made out to the Town of Medfield. Place your order HERE.
This week in Health with Ms. Laughna, Grade 5 students presented their research on the effects of tobacco. The students were very well prepared!
MHS Clay Club presents Empty Bowls, a collaborative community dinner of soup and bread to raise money for Medfield Food Cupboard. Come make or buy a bowl and join us for a soup dinner Thursday 3/9/23. All proceeds benefit Medfield Food Cupboard!
