Positive Sign Thursday!
Next week marks the beginning of our literacy assessment period. During this three-week period, our reading specialists (Mrs. Bassett and Mrs. Callahan) will be conducting the BAS (Benchmark Assessment System). Students in grades 4 & 5 may visit our reading room or an alternate location outside of their classroom to complete the short assessment.
On a visit to Mrs. Chamblin's fifth-grade class this week, students researched and created arguments - diving deeper into their persuasive writing. Awesome job!
Medfield Community
This year's ANGP takes place on Sunday night, June 5th at 9:00 p.m. and goes until Monday morning, June 6th at 5:00 a.m.
It takes a village to make this night a success. We need almost 200 volunteers throughout the course of the night. As you know, family members of the Medfield Class of 2022 students cannot volunteer. That is why we are reaching out to the entire Medfield community to help. It is a fun experience you won’t want to miss.
Please sign up for shifts below. We will send you an email one week prior to the ANGP with all the details that you will need.
Please post or pass this sign-up along to friends.
ANGP Chaperone & Volunteer Sign-Up Genius
This week, Dale Street Technology Integrationist, Mr. Ahern visited fourth-grade classrooms to share how students can help themselves and others to be positive and safe while communicating online. So important - so valuable!
Both events will be held in Dale’s cafeteria from 7-8:30 PM. Students will enjoy a DJ with dancing, Games in the Gym, Guess How Many, Trivia, Refreshments, and more. Cash or check payable to the Dale PTO to be paid at the door (no pre-registration). This is a drop-off event, but we need the help of many parents to ensure the evening runs smoothly. Please view this permission slip for all of the details and to volunteer.
This week Ms. Isaacson's fourth-grade class had another informative and engaging lesson with our partners at SEED Science. Students continued their unit on waves and in this lesson students focused on sound waves. This awesome experience was made possible by a Massachusetts Cultural Council grant.
On Tuesday, Director of Food Service, Ms. Fahey visited our Student Council meeting to listen to student feedback and share information about school lunches. It was a great conversation with a lot of super ideas!
On behalf of all of the employees at Dale Street, I would like to wish all of the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures a Happy Mother's Day!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Steve
