May 20, 2016 - Week 35

Hello Dale Street Families~

The Dale Street Art Show was held on Monday night.  Artwork from students in Grades 4 and 5 was on display.  The artwork was truly exemplary!  Thank you to all of the students and Mrs. Deveno for creating such a wonderful environment!

Congratulations to Dale Street's MCPE Fall Ball Poster Contest Winners!  Can't wait for for the Fall Ball!

On Wednesday, Dale Street's intramural S.T.E.A.M. class presented their terrific projects.  Fantastic presentations and creativity!  Special thank you to our fabulous Blake student leaders!

We are just about complete with state testing at Dale Street.  Grade 4 completed all of their PARCC sessions and have completed their spring testing requirements.  Grade 5 has two days of PARCC math remaining.  Grade 5 will test on Monday, May 23rd (Unit 3 - 60 minutes) and Tuesday, May 23rd (Unit 4 - 60 minutes).  I would like to recognize and commend the students and staff at Dale Street for working incredibly hard each day.  I am very proud of you!

There was some great iPad integration again this week at Dale Street.  Check it out.....

Mrs. Keane's Grade 4 students used Padlet to share literature circle ideas and observations.

Students in 5Lowerre began their iPad tour projects.

Ms. Walunas' Grade 5 students worked with coordinates, metrics, and measurement.

New bulletin board alert! Students in 5Bertschmann made polygon creatures using specific guidelines and their creative sides. The guidelines were to create a picture with a minimum of 4 different types of quadrilaterals, 3 different types of triangles, 3 different polygons with five or more sides, and a table showing how many polygons were used.  Great work, girls and boys!

I am happy to announce that our fantastic PE department has a new website.  Please visit

Dale Street students will be honoring our veterans and those currently serving our country through songs and remarks on Friday, May 27th.
