January 8, 2016 - Week 18

Happy New Year Dale Street!

At the end of our first full week of 2016, we're back into the swing of things!
Pro-Bot Robot Integration

I am pleased to announce that the Dale Street School was recently awarded a $5,500 MCPE grant to purchase 50 Pro-Bots.  Special thanks to the MCPE for this very generous grant and thank you to Marissa Foley who worked tirelessly writing this grant.

Mrs. Cowell's students took time this week to make some predictions about the water cycle during science.

Thank you to all the families who came out on Tuesday evening for the Adolescence Changes presentation.  Mrs. Carey, Mrs. Thompson, Mr. Stevens, and Mrs. Cowell did a wonderful job informing the group of the upcoming health unit.

Thank you to Mrs. Deveno and her art students for inviting me to help with their figure drawing project.  These students are so incredibly talented!

As a reminder, we use 20 degrees as our cut off mark for outside recess.  We look at the actual temperature as well as the "feels like" temperature with the wind chill.  As long as the temperature is above 20 degrees with the windchill, the kids will have outside recess barring any icy conditions that would make the playgrounds unsafe.  Please keep this in mind when sending your child to school and be sure to send the proper clothing.

Thank you in advance!

Patriots Spirit Day!

Dale Street School will have a Patriots Spirit Day on Friday, January 15th to support the local team as they move into the playoffs.  Staff and students are encouraged to come to school in their Patriots attire or attire that supports their favorite football team.
As always, participation in spirit days is voluntary.
