Here are some exciting things that took place this week and some important information regarding upcoming events.
Happy Diwali to all of our families who celebrate. Wishing you a Diwali that brings happiness and joy.
Grade 4 and 5 students had a blast on their field trip to see The Wild Robot this week! They are already diving into discussions about the similarities and differences between the book and the movie. Such a fun and engaging way to bring literature to life!

During yesterday's Professional Development afternoon, our staff participated in professional development with Dr. Naami Turk. Dr. Turk is a clinical psychologist who has worked with children, adolescents, and families for the past 25 years. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of mood, anxiety, neurodevelopmental disorders, and complex developmental trauma. Additionally, she provides school-based services to school districts across Massachusetts. Dr. Turk shared information with Memorial, Wheelock, and Dale Street staff members about trauma and trauma-informed practices to help support students.
A huge thanks to the Dale Street PTO hospitality team for sharing delicious treats this week. We are very lucky and very appreciative.
Positive Sign Thursday!

MHS Fall Musical: Little Shop of Horrors
November 22-24, Medfield High School Theatre Society will present its fall musical, Little Shop of Horrors. Little Shop of Horrors is a dark comedy that follows Seymour, a love sick florist, who pines over his co-worker, Audrey. During a total eclipse of the sun, a strange plant appears and offers him everything he ever wanted, but at a very steep price. Seymour keeps and names this mysterious plant Audrey II after the girl that he loves, and starts down an exciting and dangerous path.
Over time, Audrey II begins to attract customers who are intrigued by its growing size. Yet, as the shop grows in popularity, so does the impending sense of doom filling the air. And, when people start going missing, this feeling is only heightened.
Little did Seymour know that as Audrey II got more and more blood, it would also become more and more greedy. Ultimately, Seymour’s fate shows that there is a price to pay for exchanging your morals for profit. Especially when those profit margins slowly become smaller.
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (BROADWAY VERSION) is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com Licensed by MTI.

Today, students in Mrs. Flynn's fourth-grade class made a class line plot of all their candy bar lengths, and some students helped answer this challenge: If we put all 20 candy bars in a straight line, it totaled 93 inches or 7.75 feet!
This week, I was lucky enough to join members of the Fancy Book Club intramural for their after-school session. It was fun to enjoy tea and snacks with them and hear the most recent book they completed.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
Steve
