September 16, 2022 - Week 3

Happy Friday Dale Street!

Our first five-day school week with students was fantastic!  I am so proud of the effort of our Rockstar students and staff.  This week included classroom discussions highlighting kindness and compassion, Makerspace and Technology classes, International Dot Day, and a lot of fun learning.  Take a look...

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals!

Alli was recognized for exemplifying what it means to be a role model.

Jordan was recognized for demonstrating compassion by assisting a friend that was upset.

On Thursday, scientists in Mrs. Ross' and Mrs. Seaver's fifth-grade class, took their learning outside to make scientific observations.  Their focus...What happens to their shadows throughout the day?

Positive Sign Thursday!

'YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!'

This week in Mrs. Flynn's fourth-grade class students tasted or sampled at least 1 book from each of the genre bins at each table. All books are in their classroom library, and they recorded books they want to read in the future in their Reader’s Notebooks.

Parent Information Night (PIN) is scheduled for Thursday, September 22nd. Grade 4 parents/guardians will meet in their child’s classroom from 6:00-6:45 p.m. and Grade 5 parents/guardians will meet in their child’s classroom from 6:45 - 7:30 p.m. Specials subject teachers and specialists will be available from 6:30-7:15 p.m. Special subject teachers will be located in the cafeteria and Special Education staff will be located in the Makerspace.  Be sure to visit the lobby to learn about PTO, SEPAC, and MCPE and to grab a snack courtesy of our cafeteria staff.

Covid Guidelines 2022-2023

This week in Makerspace class with Mrs. Lowerre, grade 5 students used legos to make random creations.  We have awesome designers!

Over the past few weeks, I have been visiting classrooms and sharing the book Dolphins in Trees by Aaron Polansky. This is a story about kindness, belief, love, choices, and the potential in all of us to make a difference in the world of others.  At Dale Street, we believe our decisions, not our conditions, determine our destiny.

Guess What???? Students taped the first student-led Daily Dale today.  The news will air on Monday.  Our students are AMAZING!

Spirit Day

Friday, September 23rd is Patriots spirit day. Wear Patriots gear or dress in the team’s colors as we get ready to cheer during the first home game of the season!

At various times throughout the year, the Dale Street cafeteria will have 'Lucky Plates' at all student lunches.  Students recently had one of these lunches and let me tell you - it was a great atmosphere.

Fourth graders participated in a digital citizen survival kit activity during their technology time with Mr. Ahern this week. Their job was to discuss how everyday objects connect with different components that make up digital citizenship. For example, a plug goes with balancing time online, meaning students should remember to limit their screen time and "unplug" from their devices. Great teamwork!

On Thursday, Ms. Isaacson's grade 4 class enjoyed their trip to our awesome library. Students loved the flexible seating (thanks MCPE!) and dove into some really good books.

PICTURE DAY IS COMING!

Tuesday, September 20th is Picture Day! We are excited to announce that this year we will return to group classroom photos instead of using individual student photos to create a classroom composite! *Please note if your student is absent on picture day, they will not be in the classroom photo.*
