June 14, 2019 - Week 39

Greetings Dale Street Community,

On Wednesday, our Grade 5 students participated in Dale Street's Grade 5 Celebration. It was a great event!  Special thanks to Mr. Jim James - your message was fabulous.  Here are a few snapshots from the day.

Congratulations to our grade 5 yearbook winners, Lily and Emma.  What talented artists!

Special thanks to the Clay family who donated this awesome cornhole set to #beproudbedale.  It is already getting great use!

The students and staff celebrated the US Women's first World Cup game in France with a spirit day on Tuesday.  Thank you all for your great support!

Thank you to Personal Best Karate for providing coffee and donuts to our Dale Street Staff during a very busy last week of school.  We really appreciate it!

Congratulations to our Math Challenge winners: Mason, Jack, Rudra, Braeden, Brayden, Warren and Rebecca.  Keep up the good work!

SUMMER MATH and
LANGUAGE ARTS SKILLS SHARPENER

Many students have found it beneficial to work on strengthening math and/or language arts skills over the summer months.  For many years we have used a series of workbooks published by a company called Summer Skills.  These books have been successful in helping students practice and sharpen their skills.  Please be aware that some questions contained in the workbooks may cover topics that have been introduced but not yet mastered.  As a school, we feel that summer work is beneficial, as studies show that much of what is learned during the school year is lost over the summer months; however, this book is entirely OPTIONAL.

Check out their website at http://www.SummerSkills.com

Last week we held a wonderful Moving Up assembly. It was fantastic to recognize retirees, Mrs. Crable & Mrs. Gordon, teacher of the year, Mr. Mason, and our awesome Ss!

Check out the PTO update.

Ms. DiPesa's fourth grade students had a wonderful time traveling over to Memorial School to share stories with Mrs. Grace's kindergarten class.

If you know that your child will not be attending Medfield Public Schools for the next school year, please let the office know for the placement process.

This will be the last Dale Street blog of the school year.  Thank you to all for checking in each week.  On behalf of the entire Dale Street staff, I wish all of you a sensational summer vacation!

Steve
