June 9, 2017 - Week 38

Hello Dale Street!

We hope that you had a fantastic week - we sure did!
What a great day for this year's Field Day!  The weather turned out great and the children had a lot of fun.  Special thanks to Mr. Stevens and Mrs. Carey for organizing such a wonderful day.  Additionally, thanks to all the Dale Street staff and Medfield High School students for assisting with all of the events.

On Wednesday, Blake Middle School Principal, Mr. Vaughn and Assistant Principal, Mrs. Campbell visited our fifth graders to share important information and good advice about Blake Middle School.

Congratulations to the 4th and 5th grade band members for their wonderful concert on Tuesday night.  The students were fantastic!  Special thanks to our terrific instructors, Mr. George Murphy and Mr. Ryan Dexter for directing such a great concert!

Congratulations and thank you to fifth grader, Victoria for winning the Grade 5 Lunch Menu contest and serving her wonderful dish on Thursday!

Grade 5 students participated in the annual Egg Drop event today. Students played the role of design engineers to create contraptions that would safely hold an egg.  Dale Street students are clever and talented!

On Wednesday, members of the Dale Street Chorus visited the Thomas Upham House and performed for the residents.  What a talented group!

Thank you to all who donated arts & crafts materials for the patients at Children's Hospital. Your donations were sent off to Children's Hospital this afternoon and will most definitely help brighten the days of the children staying at Children's.

Today, Grade 4 had an assembly to celebrate Dale Street's 2017 summer read....The Wild Robot! Take a look at the video we shared at the assembly.

Grade 4 students have received a letter describing this year's summer reading initiative.  Please click here to view the letter.

The 2017-18 School Calendar was revised at this week’s School Committee Meeting.

Please see the New Calendar Here.
Mrs. Crable's fourth grade class spent time preparing solar ovens.  It was great to see such wonderful collaboration during their design process!

Grade 5 will have their celebration on Friday, June 16th at 10:00 AM in the Dale Street Gymnasium.   Parents are invited back to the classrooms following the celebration until students' 11:20 a.m. lunchtime.

Transition day will be held on Monday, June 19th.  Children will spend approximately 30-40 minutes in their new teacher's classroom, get a chance to meet their new classmates, and hear a little about what's to come next year.

Don't forget to check the lost and found for any missing sweatshirts, hats, water bottles, etc.  All unclaimed items will be donated to charity on the last day of school.

If you know that your child will not be attending Medfield Public Schools for the next school year, please let the office know for the placement process.

Thank you for taking time to check the blog!

Best wishes for a wonderful weekend,
Steve
