Hello Dale Street Community!

It is amazing to think that next week is the last week of March. Time certainly flies when you are having fun. What a wonderful week! Check out some of the awesomeness from our #beproudbedale students and staff this week......

This morning Grade 4 students attended an awesome engineering, science, and magic assembly! They viewed awesome experiments and illusions. Huge thanks to the Dale Street PTO for making this experience possible.

Congratulations to Ryan, Maeve, Presley, Cam, Brooks, and Teddy on their impressive achievement at the DI tournament last weekend! Their creativity, teamwork, and dedication are truly commendable.

Congratulations to Dale Street's 5th-grade team (Mica, Cate, Caroline, Devan, and Claire) for earning 2nd place in this year’s Less is More challenge! Their outstanding work has earned them an invitation to the Global Tournament in Kansas City this May. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement!

Elementary Principals Webinar

On March 26th at 4:00 PM, the Elementary Principals will host an informational webinar (link below) for families regarding the student placement process for the 2025-2026 school year. This session will provide an overview of the placement process, including details on the optional placement input Google Form, which will replace the parent narrative this year. The webinar will be recorded and shared for those unable to attend or who wish to review the information later. If you have specific questions or topics you would like addressed during the webinar, please submit them using this form by Sunday, March 23rd.

Mrs. Scott’s class teamed up with Math Specialist, Mrs. Perachi for a fun game of Simon Says—geometry style! 🎉📐 Students used movement to explore shapes, angles, and line segments in an interactive way. Learning + fun = success! 🙌

On Tuesday, we honored our fantastic bus drivers at an appreciation breakfast. Bus drivers were treated to bagels, donuts, fresh fruit, and coffee along with thank-you notes and a video of students stating what made their bus driver awesome. These individuals are unsung heroes of our school community. Please join us in thanking them for all they do!

This week Grade 5 students were working together to score points. They answered questions about places and activities that popped up during their spin the wheel game.

Term 2 report cards will be available for viewing via the Aspen Portal on Friday, March 28th after 1 p.m.

Rob Buyea - Optional Book Order Information

On Tuesday, April 29th, local author Rob Buyea will visit Dale Street School and present to all students. Thank you to our amazing PTO for funding this big event! We are offering families the option to purchase signed books through this website: Click Here.

The Spring 2025 MCAS testing dates are as follows: ELA: April 4 and April 9 STE (Grade 5 only): May 6 and May 8 Math: May 16 and May 20

Dale Street students (along with Memorial and Wheelock students) are partnering with the Medfield Recycling Committee to celebrate Earth Day. Together, they'll donate reusable bags from Shaw's and Brothers with eco-friendly messages and artwork to inspire sustainability in our community. Keep an eye out for these special bags.

5th Grade Yearbooks are available to purchase now through April 30, 2025 - Treering Yearbooks. Each yearbook includes 2 free customized pages for your student. Custom pages are due by April 30th!

The Round of 8 of our March Madness Tournament begins next week. Round of 16 scores will be posted in the cafeteria on Monday at lunch. Students and staff who made it to the Round of 8 will need to shoot 10 free throws on Tuesday, 3/25 or Friday, 3/28 from 8:00 a.m. - 8:20 a.m.

🐝 We are still BUZZ-ing from Wednesday’s Spelling Bee! Thank you Medfield for your support, to our Bee sponsor Medfield Orthodontics, to CostCo, BJ’s and Roche Bros. for donating food, James Kuehl and Jim James for moderating, and the many Wheelock & Dale educators who also helped run this event. 💙

We are actively interviewing but are still considering new candidates. Join us to make a difference - become a part of our team! If you are interested in becoming an MCPE Board Member, we would love to hear from you. We’re looking for candidates who:

1️⃣ Can commit to a 3 year term

2️⃣ Can attend board meetings once a month

3️⃣ Have an active interest in enriching kids’ education in Medfield schools
