Hello Dale Street Community!
It is amazing to think that next week is the last week of March. Time certainly flies when you are having fun. What a wonderful week! Check out some of the awesomeness from our #beproudbedale students and staff this week......
There was a lot of excitement at the High School on Monday night as over 40 Dale Street student teams participated in the MCPE Spelling Bee. All the teams did a fantastic job and their costumes were awesome! Special thanks to the Dale Street teacher volunteers, Jim James for moderating, and the always supportive MCPE for organizing this fun event.

On Tuesday, students in Mrs. Chamblin's fifth-grade class participated in a great discussion about decomposition. Students also have mold terrariums - observing what specific conditions impact their terrariums. So cool!
On Monday, we honored our amazing bus drivers at an appreciation breakfast. Bus drivers were treated to bagels, donuts, fresh fruit, and coffee along with thank-you notes and a video of students stating what made their bus driver awesome. These individuals are unsung heroes of our school community. Please join us in thanking them for all they do!
March 21st was World Down Syndrome Day, created by the United Nations to raise awareness about Down Syndrome. Did you know that 3,000- 5,000 babies are born each year with Down Syndrome? Down Syndrome, also called Trisomy 21, is a naturally occurring condition in which a person has an extra chromosome. Down syndrome can cause varying degrees of intellectual and physical disability and associated medical issues. As with all of us, people with Down Syndrome have different likes, dislikes, skills, and inherent rights to be accepted and included as valued and equal members of the community. Honor World Down Syndrome Day by learning more. Check out this 13-minute video on Down Syndrome titled "Just Like you": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M--xOyGUX4 To learn more about Down Syndrome, https://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/what-is-down-syndrome
