January 10. 2020 - Week 19

Dear Dale Street Families,

Well, the first five day school week of 2020 is in the books and boy did the students and staff make the most of it.  Check out some of the awesomeness from the past week....

How great is this.....grade 4 students in Ms. DiPesa's class started to 'build' their vocabulary words using Pix Brix this week.  So creative and so fun!

Today, students in Mr. Mason's fifth grade class went on a few 'field trips'.  Students used our MCPE funded viewfinders to visit Coral Reefs, Rainforests and even learned more about the American Revolution.  So cool!

Special thanks to Ms. Sager's fifth grade class for creating this great bulletin board that displays their goals for the upcoming decade.

In the Makerspace this week, Mr. Douglas' fourth grade students continued advancing through the TuringTumble challenges.  Learning + Fun = Continuous Growth!

Congratulations to our first ever Daily Dale Newscasters!  These students recently submitted audition videos in hopes to produce our new Daily Dale Morning Announcements.  Congratulations to these young learners!

In Ms. Isaacson's grade 4 classroom this week, students unpacked new strategies during math workshop that will help them better understand fractions.

Dale Street Project Update

On Tuesday afternoon/evening, the Educational Visioning Group participated in their first workshop with educational consultant, David Stephen.  There were a lot of great priorities identified by staff, parents, and community members.  Thank you to all who participated in this informative meeting.  If you would like more information regarding the Dale Street project, please click here.

Thanks to the reporters of the Dale Street Times (and after school intramural facilitated by Ms. Condon) we have a new edition of the Dale Street Times! Click here to read this edition.

Thank you to Riley for our book recommendation this week.  Riley recommended Because of Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea.  This book inspired her because, "They showed compassion to help save Mr. Terupt."  Thanks, Riley!

Dale Street Grade 4 and 5 Choral Concert

Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 7:00 pm
High school Auditorium

Students should report to the High School Auditorium Stage at 6:15 pm
Red tops for Grade 5 and Blue Tops for Grade 4
with black bottoms and shoes!

Earlier this week, students in Ms. Condon's fifth grade class created models of the solar system that represent how far each planet is from sun - they used their division strategies to calculate how many pieces of toilet paper they would need!

In the Makerspace this week, students (acting as amazing collaborators and problem solving) created games that kids would love playing in their classrooms.  Thanks!
